Forward deployed engineering that delivers what we diagnose
Forward deployed engineering, done properly. Senior practitioners embed to build, integrate and ship the work, holding the strategic picture, the quality and the governance, tied to the business outcome. A named senior lead owns the outcome, with engineering delivered by trusted partners.
- What it is. Forward deployed engineering: senior practitioners embed to build and ship the work, with the commercial model shaped to suit you.
- Works with you. Alongside your own team, not instead of it.
- Outcomes. Delivery tied back to business outcomes and assured against the original intent.
- Oversight. ScaleAround owns strategy, quality and delivery governance throughout.
- Scope. From a single team to a multi-vendor programme.
- Method. Agile or phased, depending on what suits the work.
How to adopt it. Start with a Technology Review or AI Opportunity Review to fix the outcome and the priorities. Embed a senior lead and the right engineers against that plan. Deliver in short cycles with governance and clear acceptance criteria, then hand over to your team or continue into fractional leadership. Outcome-aligned where it can be, so delivery throughput rises without runaway cost.
Scoping and plan
Define the implementation against review findings or your brief. Break into milestones with clear acceptance criteria. Identify required specialist skills and select delivery partners from our vetted network, or work with your existing team.
Directed delivery
We direct the work: set priorities, review output, manage the interface between technical delivery and business stakeholders, unblock problems, and adjust course as needed. Weekly steering meetings with you, more frequent interaction with the delivery team. Monthly scope reviews keep the engagement honest.
Handover and embed
Documentation, knowledge transfer to your internal team, operational handover. If the engagement transitions to Fractional Leadership, there is no formal handover, the same person continues.
Month one – foundations
Prioritised use cases, minimum viable governance and guardrails, approved content locations, and a targeted content set so the tools ground on the right material.
Month two – practical enablement
A prompt catalogue and best-practice guidance, out-of-the-box agent or assistant configuration within tenant and licensing constraints, and scenario-led usage notes.
Month three – exemplar and handover
A working exemplar agent or workflow restricted to approved content, clear usage boundaries and escalation points, and early adoption support.
Ongoing – expand and embed
Roll out to additional teams and use cases. Build new workflows against the same governance framework. Monitor adoption, refine prompts and agents based on real usage, and adjust guardrails as the organisation matures. Modular engagement — scale up or pause as the business needs.
Capacity-constrained by design. Led by a named senior practitioner. Delivered against explicit prioritisation, so new requirements trigger explicit trade-offs rather than scope creep.
